Have you ever heard of Salvia Divinorum?

Salvia Divinorum, often known as diviner’s sage, is probably one of the most hallucinogenic drugs on the planet.

When you smoke or ingest it and when it’s burned at the right temperature, causes vivid, intense hallucinations.

When people hear the word ‘hallucinogen’, they usually associate it with illegal drugs.

You know, those kinds of drugs people usually take in raves or parties.

Although it has hallucinogenic effects, Salvia Divinorum is not one of those drugs that you could just pull out of the bag and trip with on a random night out.

In fact, I don’t recommend it to most people, even you. I don’t think that you should try it.

There’s a reason why some cultures see it as sacred and perceive it as a key to a mystical world.

You will never see the world in the same way after you have experienced its effects.

This stuff is intense and not everyone is ready for that.

I’m going to share my experience with this and I’ll tell you why you should probably not try it.

In this article you will learn:

  •  What is Salvia Divinorum
  •  My experience with Salvia Divinorum
  •  Reasons why you should not try it

Let’s dive in!

Salvia Divinorum

Salvia Divinorum and its cultural importance are quite fascinating and interesting. It’s thought to contain one of the most powerful hallucinogens known to man but its effect is strange and elusive and hardly anyone knows about it.

What is Salvia Divinorum really and why do some ancient cultures call it the ‘Diviner’s Sage’? Should you give it a try?

Why Should I Not Try Salvia Divinorum?

As a general rule, you should not try Salvia Divinorum because it’s more intense than you think. Aside from it being hard to figure out the right dosage, it’s going to rip a veil you never knew existed in your reality and not everyone is ready to see through that veil.  It’s going to tear your reality and ego apart.

So unless you’re sure that you’re very aware and awakened, unless you’re ready for your ego to be crashed and see the truth, you should not try it.

Why You Should Not Try Salvia Divinorum

What Is Salvia Divinorum?

Salvia Divinorum is a highly hallucinogenic plant that is usually smoked or ingested.

Salvinorin A, the main element in salvia, is one of the most powerful naturally occurring hallucinogenic substances.

When it’s burned at the right temperature, it causes vivid and intense hallucinations. Its side effects can also include dizziness, visual distortions, and more.

Salvia has several street names, including Sally-D, The Magic Mint, Sage of the Diviner, and Maria Pastora.

The plant is typically not used in rolled cigarettes or joints since the dried leaves may lack the potency to provide any effect.

Fresh leaves are more commonly used to produce an extract. These extracts can be smoked with pipes or water bongs. It can also be used to flavor beverages or vape pens.

Fresh salvia leaves can also be eaten. Fresh leaves, like dried leaves, aren’t regarded as particularly strong, but some people may notice a minor effect.

Where Is Salvia Divinorum From?

Salvia is indigenous to southern Mexico as well as regions of Central and South America.

For millennia, the Mazatec Indians have utilized it in traditional ceremonies, particularly to promote shamanic visions in the context of healing or divination.

Mazatec shamans use divinorum in their rituals as it’s one of the numerous species with hallucinogenic characteristics.

Shamans exclusively utilize fresh salvia leaves.  They regard the plant as an incarnation of the Virgin Mary and begin the ritual with an invocation to Mary, Saint Peter, the Holy Trinity, and other saints.

Ritual use traditionally entails being in a quiet place after ingestion of the leaf. The Mazatec shamans claim that “La Maria” (Salvia Divinorum) speaks to them with a quiet voice.

It is also used as a diuretic and to treat conditions such as diarrhea, anemia, migraines, rheumatism, and a semi-magical condition known as panzón de Borrego, or a swollen belly.

The plant’s history is unknown, and there is no conclusive answer to the question of its origin.

Salvia divinorum might be a wild plant native to the area, a Mazatec cultigen, or a cultigen imported by another indigenous population. Botanists are also unsure if the plant is a hybrid or a cultigen.

Salvia divinorum was first documented in print by Jean Basset Johnson in 1939, while he was studying Mazatec shamanism.

He later documented its usage and reported its effects through personal testimonials.

It wasn’t until the 1990s that a team led by Daniel Siebert identified its psychoactive mechanism.

Is Salvia Legal?

Salvia mostly went unnoticed until 2011, when a video of pop music singer Miley Cyrus became viral on the internet.

The then-18-year-old singer was recorded inhaling salvia in a water bong in the video.

The film drew attention to this medication, and some state politicians began drafting laws prohibiting the sale and usage of this plant.

Salvia is not yet licensed for any medicinal purposes in the United States. It’s also not included in the Controlled Substances Act. That implies that salvia is subject to state laws but not federal legislation.

Many states now have prohibitions against purchasing, owning, or selling salvia. Some states impose age limitations, and others prohibit salvia extracts but not the plant.

Another tiny number of jurisdictions have decriminalized salvia possession, so if you’re caught with the plant or extracts, you won’t be arrested.

While salvia is legal in certain states, it is nonetheless a strong substance with dire effects and hazards.

If you use salvia or have contemplated trying it, it’s a good idea to understand the substance, the hazards, and what to anticipate when you take it.

Why You Should Not Try Salvia Divinorum

1: You May Not Be Ready To See Beyond The Veil

Most people are not ready to see beyond the veil.

There’s a veil that separates normal everyday reality and the higher realms.

So the everyday reality is where you go to work, sit in your office, and pay your taxes.

This is the only world you’ve seen in this lifetime and it runs in a certain way.

The salvia Divinorum then rips apart a veil that you didn’t even know existed.

And suddenly, you start to see through that veil.

So you start to see the different frequencies and dimensions.

hourglass and clocks

You realize that time is nonlinear and that we’re all here connected in the same infinite present moment.

Most people, start to freak out when they see that.

After all, they’ve always known the world in a certain way and now they’re seeing that it’s actually not what it seemed.

This is going to bring up all their insecurities, their limiting beliefs, their fears, and their whole personalities.

By the way, I have these ‘harmonically tuned’ audio tracks that are finally available to the public for the first time. It helps you effortlessly raise your vibrations/frequencies so check that out.

2: Your Ego Wouldn’t Like It

What if everything you’ve identified yourself with, the house, the job title, the hot boyfriend or girlfriend, your branded clothes, suddenly loses all their meaning?

Call it enlightenment or transcendence; ego death is one of the most profound and terrifying experiences a person can have.

It’s weird to put the words profound and terrifying, two opposite adjectives, to describe one thing but there’s no other way to say it.

It really is as scary as it is fascinating.

Ego death is the often spontaneous realization that you are not the objects with which you have associated your sense of self.

And you know what ego likes to do? It’s going to do everything to try to defend itself.  Most people are not ready to freak out like that.

They’re not ready to lose their grip on reality or lose their grip on one idea of reality and see what is actually the case.

When your ego resists this “death,” the experience can be frightening and result in a sensation of estrangement or disassociation. It often results in a complete loss of subjective self-identity, resulting in depression and anxiety.

It completely alters the trajectory of people’s lives. Death is scary, even the death of the ego.

On the other hand, when someone comes through the other side having let go of everything they’ve identified with and just their true self remains, they begin to live from a position of pure love.

But then again, not everyone is ready for that.

If you want to know more about your true self and your soul’s deepest desires, I recommend that you take this free personal numerology reading.

3: Finding The Right Dosage Can Be Tricky

With salvia Divinorum, the dosage is very important but it’s pretty hard to calculate.

You can get this kind of standardized extract, which are really good.

But if you don’t know the exact dosage that you’re taking, you could be taking 60 times the required amount of that refined extract.

When that happens, your reality will be completely torn apart for about an hour or two.

On the other hand, if you take a low dosage, nothing will happen.

There’s no way of really telling specifically what the dosage should be.

It’s not like there’s an instruction label there somewhere.

If you don’t know the dosage, you have no idea what you’re in for. So it’s quite risky.

4: It Will Tear Your Reality Apart

Salvia will tear your reality apart.

Perception is the process through which we see and understand our surroundings.

When sensory cues do not match with our limiting beliefs, our view of reality will be affected.

Our conditioned minds’ illusions frequently contradict our actual experience of reality.

There are several factors that affect our perceptions. Our unique life experiences and our environment.

Your values and beliefs were passed down to you as a kid and you readily accepted them.

They are rarely questioned, and they become ingrained in our consciousness. Accepted without doubt, as though written on old stone tablets.

After all, this is the reality you’ve really ever perceived. But Salvia Divinorum will tear all that apart.

You won’t be able to look at things in the same way because especially with your senses?

The Diviner’s Sage will take your senses and distort them in certain ways that you didn’t know were possible.

So when you look at things after that, you can’t see things the same way.

It’s really hard to explain in the usual language because it’s not really something you can put into words.

But basically, it will change your perception of reality.

Most people are not ready for that and it would actually amplify mental issues or things that are already there.

Salvia Divinorum (How To Take)

The first thing to realize is that Salvia is not a recreational drug. It’s not sociable; you won’t be the life of the party if you consume it. In fact, it may provide you with a horrifying and perplexing encounter.

Salvia should be taken in an almost dark room. Make yourself at ease, and bring a friend with you. Put on some soothing music or sit quietly. It doesn’t really matter because your thoughts will soon be busy with other things.

Salvia divinorum can be used in these most common ways:

The conventional way (or so we believe because we don’t know for sure) is to ground the Salvia leaves into a powder and drink it with fluids.

This is inefficient since it takes a long time and isn’t very effective. Legend has it, the shamans gained their visions through this manner and power.

A “quid” is a straightforward modern approach. A tight wad of leaves is fashioned into a ball or tube, similar to chewing tobacco.

Then you eat it very slowly, one chew every 10 seconds or so. You’re not going to swallow anything, so attempt to concentrate the liquid and quid under your tongue.

This enables sublingual absorption. You spit everything out as you begin to slip away.

If you buy dried Salvia leaves, you may rehydrate them and make your own Salvia chewing balls.

Many individuals do this by combining them with sweeteners such as honey.

Salvia leaves that have been dried can be smoked in a pipe or bong.

You must smoke them hot and inhale deeply. This is not a good strategy since heated air entering the lungs might be harmful.

However, it is the most often used strategy. Because psychoactive compounds are absorbed swiftly and have an immediate impact, you must smoke deeply and quickly.

My recommendation is to always use a bong to chill the smoke before inhaling it.
